Resilience

COVID 19 came in unexpectedly. It affected more than a hundreds of thousands of people but most of them recovered from it. And behind every people that luckily survived form the virus are our beloved FRONTLINERS who are until now are facing life and death situations just for us to be safe. Salute to every FRONTLINERS out there.

The least thing that we can do is to follow health protocols, some has been strict in applying those rules to be followed yet there are still some people who takes it as a joke. Our country is still in the very bottom in recovering from this pandemic yet people are already trying to act like everything is normal.

Pandemic ka lang, I am a Filipino

COVID-19 Info

"The coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic is the defining global health crisis of our time and the greatest challenge we have faced since World War Two. Since its emergence in Asia late last year, the virus has spread to every continent except Antarctica.

We have now reached the tragic milestone of one million deaths, and the human family is suffering under an almost intolerable burden of loss.

“The climbing death toll is staggering, and we must work together to slow the spread of this virus.” - UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner." - undp.org

We have faced so many circumstances this 2020 and one of them is this pandemic that we are facing right now. This pandemic has given me the thought that, what if we, for once, follow a certain rule. It's just that this pandemic shouldn't have last this long if we have been responsible with our doings and if everyone should've listened.

I'll set this thought aside because with all of these problems that we are facing right now, we, Filipinos, remained strong. We all have this strength to get through everything. We have this inner motivation that gets us through every tough circumstances despite facing hardships. But as a Filipino, we should still be responsible enough so that we can avoid more problems to face.

I have seen a lot of posts on social media how people cope up with this pandemic. And I'm proud to say, we can do this. This pandemic can't tear us down. There might be people who sadly, didn't recovered but they are in good place now. I pray that we won't lose hope and continue to have courage to rise again if we face our downfall.

What More?

This year has been the most stressful year I've ever had. The pressure is too much and just being a Grade 10 adds up to the stress. But then I have never enjoyed a year like this.  Tho there's so many requirements and activities, my friends made my year better. And I have never appreciated them more.

Since I was a child, my biggest fear is speaking infront of many people but this year I have to face that fear because my grades will drop if I let it eat me. I think that fear will always be with me because after everything that I've done to overcome it, I will always feel it everytime I speak.

I know that I will finish everything and move on with my life as a Grade 11. But the time moved slowly as a Grade 10. I have never thought that I will be a completer, 4 years of stress will now be paid off and another stressful years will come.

A Star to Achieve

Since then, I've been wanting to be a Doctor someday. Cardiologist to be exact. I haven't told my parents about being a cardiologist tho but they know that I want to be a Doctor. What's with being a Cardiologist? My mama has heart disease, so I want to be able to study her illness and maybe, just maybe, I can help her. It hurts to see her suffer when she has chest pains caused by her sickness. And if I ever could achieve being a Cardiologist, I will not hesitate to help her. And to be able to achieve this, I'll try my best to study hard and chaste after my dreams. I will not give up easily, giving up means giving up the chance to help my mother. Aside from being a cardiologist, I've been wanting to travel around the world. And if i can save money, I will happily travel around the world.

ISNHS PRIDE

This coming March, ISNHS will be celebrating the most awaited celebration of the school. They will be marking the 118th High School Day Celebration. It is composed by a coronation, a parade of different grade levels with their costumes and a field demo. It is supposed to be a two-day celebration but then with the cancellation on the events of February, they have to do all of it for one day.

Preparations for the field demo of students kept them busy. Since they are advised to not be involved in a crowded place, they only practice in their MAPEH period. The struggle on this part is that they will not be able to adjust once they are in the field. But then it is more better than catching a virus that has no cure.

But aside from it, it won't be a problem to the students because they will surely enjoy the said event. March will sure be a hell of a month because of the cramming and all but will surely enjoy it.

The Joy of Continuous Celebration

Aside from celebrating Vigan City Fiesta, Ilocos Sur held a festival that showcase their treasures and highlights their cultural traditions which is also celebrated at the end of January to the third week of February. Ilocos Sur is known to be rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino Heritage. This festival is known as Kannawidan.

Kannawidan is an Ilocano term that means feast of rich heritage and culture. So it is understood that the main focus of this festival is more on culture and traditions. Different events are held in this festival and many participants from some provinces of Ilocos Sur compete for the grand prize. This is also a good chance to showcase your talent. Kannawidan is open for all and if you wish to enjoy your stay here in Vigan, make sure that you witness this festival. Artist from different network also join Kannawidan Festival. If you are lucky enough, you might be able to see your favorite artist.

FIRST THING FIRST

One of the things that I hate is changing. Because why do we need it? Why do we have to start over again when we are already half way through? But since sometimes even when you hate it, you have to do it to be able to move on.

You may look at me and say that i'm incapable of making a change because really, how could someone like me, an ordinary person, could make a change right? But physical appearance will never be a basis of what they can do. You should not judge a person just by his/her appearance, most people do though.

But the first step in making a change, is the change for yourself. You should change yourself before making a bigger change for something else. You have to improve the 'you' before because if that 'you' from the past keeps hunting you, you may not be able to properly change for better.

Endless Celebration

Vigan City, hailed as one of the 7 Wonders Cities of the World celebrates Vigan City Fiesta every 25th of January. This fiesta commemorates the town's patron saint, which is St. Paul the Apostle, with a parade, musical performances, beauty contests and cultural shows. This fiesta last for several days.

People from other places also join in celebrating this fiesta. Participants from other neighboring provinces compete to certain contests and activities. Mostly the street-dancing. They have the chance to showcase their talent to other people. You can feel the homely-feeling when you are here in Vigan City even if you are from other place. Here in Vigan you will discover new things and new foods.

Vigan City fiesta is not the only one being celebrated, Longganisa Festival also. So the parade that happens every year is Longganisa-themed parade and it is held at 27th of the January so it is like the continuation of the said fiesta. This festival should be given more attention since it is one of the crowd-drawer of Vigan City.

A New Beginning

Every new year means new beginning. You have to enjoy every beginning because not all can experience or witness it. If 2019 has been hard on you, why not make a change this 2020.
New Year, New Me. This is always what they say. But then the word "new" in 'new me' is not always about changing. Sometimes it is also about improving. Make yourself a better person this year. New means change and if you keep changing you'll never go anywhere.
Believing in 'New Year, New Me' for me is a mistake. Because there's no point in changing every year. I focus on the part 'new' and I have been dependent on it. But I am willing to change this belief of mine and focus in improving myself rather than changing every time. I'll try to focus more on what has to be done.

3RD GRADING-.-

Having to experience new things is overwhelming. But as days passes by, we learn from it and we apply it. It helps us surpass many things.

This 3rd Grading have been such a hectic quarter. But for me tho, learning is fun when you enjoy it. At first, everything will be so confusing but that will spark your curiousness and it will trigger you to learn about that thing.

We shouldn't be a coward in facing problem or any circumstances in our life because how will be able to live if simply solving our problems we cannot do. If you face your problems, you'll learn and you will be able to pass everything.

Feel the Presence

Christmas is one of the most awaited celebration of everybody. This is where everything falls back into pieces. Most people do on Christmas is to prepare a lot of food, celebrate snd eat together as a family. There's a lot of things you can do in Christmas.

During Christmas Eve, we wen out and atteed mass just like we do every year. We set aside all our problems and just focuses in celebrating the birth of Christ.
